Stories from Asian mothers abroad

An unhurried conversation series about business, children, marriage and the things we rarely say out loud. Recorded in Vancouver, in Mandarin and English.

“We moved for our children, our safety, our future. Nobody asked what it cost us.”

This series is not advice and not a masterclass. It is one woman sitting across from another, talking honestly about what it is to build a business, raise a family and rebuild an identity in a country that was not yet home.

If you have ever felt capable and invisible at the same time, this is for you.

The format

  • Long-form video interviews, 30–45 minutes
  • Mandarin and English, subtitled in both
  • Filmed in Vancouver and, on occasion, on the road
  • Released with a small live gathering each season

First season, 2026.

Season one

Conversations we are preparing

01

Starting over at forty

The business she built at home, closed at the airport, and started again from a kitchen table in Richmond.

02

The good mother, the tired woman

On guilt, school runs, and the ambition that did not disappear just because she moved countries.

03

Marriage, in a new language

What changes between two people when one holds the visa, the job, or the fluency — and the other holds the home.

04

Who do my children become?

Raising kids who speak a language you only half share, in a culture you are still learning yourself.

Be a guest, a partner, or simply first to know

You do not need a title or a big company. If you have a story you are willing to tell honestly, we would like to hear from you. Brands looking to support the season are welcome too.
